Inter Arts Matrix
Inter Arts Matrix is a not-for-profit charitable arts organization based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Our mission is to foster the development and production of new work in interdisciplinary art.
Founded in 2007 by artistic director Anne-Marie Donovan, Inter Arts Matrix:
- educates and increases the public’s understanding of and appreciation for interdisciplinary art forms,
- assists artists develop interdisciplinary art and disseminate it to the public, and
- provides programs promoting interdisciplinary art.
IAM’s activities include performances, exhibitions, lectures, workshops, publications and outreach.
While other arts organizations emphasize the presentation of art, IAM focuses on supporting the artist through the entire creation process, from the conceptual stage to development, production, presentation, documentation and promotion. IAM is available, as needed, at any stage and for any portion of an interdisciplinary project. While in some cases, IAM may be the presenter, it often seeks out partners for the final presentation.
